Last week, I had the opportunity to talk with healthcare professionals through
out the district. They agree: the cost of healthcare is too high, and it’s driving families into debt. I will fight to ensure that our Lowcountry community has access to quality and affordable healthcare.

The average age of a first-time homebuyer is over 40 years old. This is not surprising, especially when you look at the cost of single family homes in this district. 
I will fight to bring down the cost of housing and ensure that hard work can once again equal getting ahead.

On Tuesday, I visited the USS Yorktown. As a former Navy helicopter pilot, walking her decks brought back a lot of memories and reminded me of the oath I took to support and defend the Constitution.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet with local educators to listen and talk about the role Congress can play in helping every student succeed.
